This painting began its life as a portrait, but I wasn’t happy with the form of the face. I painted an explosion of white over everything, then banished it to my closet for nearly a year. Any time I opened the closet door, it was there, giving me an accusatory glare, saying “finish me.”
When I brought it back out, I finally found a direction for it. It’s been finished for a week or so, but I was waiting for the oil to dry before offering it.
