I fell in love, HARD.

Optimistic as I was about getting an English teaching job, and being able to stay in Germany, it just didn’t happen. I realized the futility of the situation about a week after writing the super-enthusiastic “I can DO this!” post. We are returning to the US tomorrow. I will miss Köln terribly, as I have fallen in love with it, HARD.
