This painting was the first one I ever completed entirely with oil paints. I called it “The Conflict” because, for a long time, I resisted even the idea of trying oil paints- they’re messy, stinky, and take forever to dry. In the end, I lost the battle, but gained a newfound respect- and love- for oil paints. The ability to blend them so smoothly is what won me over in the end.
They’re still stinky and messy, however.
